How to make almond fudge brownies
First, preheat your oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit and line a 9 inch round baking pan with parchment paper.
Next, make your egg replacement or in vegan terms, the flax “egg”. Add 1 tablespoon of flax mill and 2 tablespoons of water in a small bowl, mix together and let it sit for 10 minutes or until it forms a gel-like consistency.
In a large bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, cacao powder, coconut sugar, baking soda, cacao powder, and salt. Whisk together until combined and set aside.
In a separate bowl, add the wet ingredients. The apple sauce, vanilla, and flax egg, and mix to combine.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry and stir to combine. Once the batter is fully mixed, add in one tablespoon of chopped almonds and stir until well incorporated.
Pour the batter into the lined baking pan and top with the remaining chopped almonds.
Bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Allow brownie to cool and enjoy!
