Ingredients Needed:

Old-fashioned oats. This variety of oats works best when blended into oat flour.

Vanilla Protein Powder. A good vanilla protein powder will give this recipe the quintessential birthday cake flavor. I love using Plant Fusion’s creamy vanilla bean protein powder because it blends really well and has 21 grams of protein per serving.

Plant Milk – Almond milk or soy milk is my preferred plant-based milk of choice. They will give the recipe a rich creaminess. If you don’t have any milk on hand, then water will do the trick.

Maple Syrup – To give an additional sweetness. Feel free to sub with honey or any other sweetener of choice.

Apple Sauce – Since this recipe is vegan, the apple sauce acts as an egg replacer. It naturally adds moisture and acts as a binder due to the pectin in the apples.

Vanilla – To really hit home that vanilla birthday cake flavor.

Baking Powder – This is going to help our oat cake rise and get fluffy.

Sprinkles – A birthday cake would not be complete without rainbow sprinkles. Not only do they give a funfetti effect but they also provide a bit of sweetness. If you’re looking for a great vegan sprinkle option, I love Watkins sprinkles.

Plant-Based Yogurt – To keep this breakfast recipe on the healthy side, a great vanilla plant-based yogurt works great as a frosting.

How to Make Birthday Cake Baked Oats:

Start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees and greasing a baking dish.

Then, mix your oats, milk, vanilla extract, almond extract, sweetener, and a pinch of salt until well combined. Gently fold in a generous handful of rainbow sprinkles, reserving some for sprinkling on top. Pour the mixture into your prepared baking dish and bake until golden and set.

While the oats are baking, jazz up your favorite non-dairy yogurt. I love using the Kite Hill Greek-style unsweetened yogurt for an extra protein kick. I’ll add a few drops of stevia for sweetness and a splash of vanilla.

Once the oats are done baking and cooled slightly, dollop on the yogurt and sprinkle with the remaining rainbow sprinkles for an extra pop of color and sweetness. Enjoy your baked oats cake warm, and get ready to celebrate the most important meal of the day in style!

With our Birthday Cake Baked Oats recipe, you can enjoy the joy of birthday cake any day of the year. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply craving something sweet and satisfying for breakfast, these delightful oats are sure to hit the spot. So gather your ingredients, preheat your oven, and get ready to embark on a delicious breakfast adventure. This recipe is guaranteed to make every day feel like a celebration!

Are Birthday Cake Baked Oats Actually Healthy?

Yes, these birthday cake-baked oats are quite healthy. This recipe is rich in healthy carbs from the oats, and high in protein from the protein powder and Greek-style yogurt. When paired with protein-rich ingredients like protein powder, nuts, or yogurt, baked oats can provide a balanced combination of carbohydrates, protein, and healthy fats to keep you feeling full and satisfied.
